I can do without another tragic end, throwing dice to wasted lost cause chance
I've been down this straight road to nowhere, cleaning bones in a redundant romance
Following the white light, she cries for me to follow her
In dreams, at least, I only see for yesterday
It's Satan's promised chaos in the black bayou that laps this beauty made to be destroyed, the sheets that Pollock threw away
Far too late or soon to say if it's too soon or late
Today is only a fraud of what you see and I admit I never could have seen this come
Tomorrow's just another vacant promise that I still make if only to spite wisdom
In passion and confusion, vicious circles crash to pieces
Anyone can see a shade in blinding light
It's all too clear in retrospect these vagueries were here before and all too clear I won't believe my eyes
Far too late or soon to say if it's too soon or late
I drink down the sun where the sobs don't reach
Beginning to beginning, a loop I'd never breach
As I dream of the place the dust that touched us now lies
While a cloud-less day betrays a pale devil sky
Ocean from a desert and a storm from a stone
For the sake of a malady that I could paint my own
And it's only ever tragic to the ones it's about
Can't fault the destination if you authored the route
Tearing open scars to watch the dead leaves fall
Then to stitch it shut quick before it empties them all
And I'm drunk on the promise of an everlasting guilt
As I wait for an exit that I know I'll never build
Now I wake with the mantle of a stranger with my name
With his motive foreign to me and the wreckage now my claim
Too many places I could see as where it went wrong
And too little time ahead to remember too long
Heavy sludgy doomy riffs complimented with excellent grooves and rhythms results in an all-around solid album. The classic metal influences from back in the day come through nicely. This album never lets up on the head nodding. The OG Metal Prophet
5-STAR ALBUM ALERT
Don't let this slide past, under your radar, this is an all-timer. Get it, ingest it, and smother your mother with these sounds. Don't actually smother her, she loves you. Maybe call her?
Let's compromise, tell her about this album and we'll call it a day. adamdoom
